Tomato Outgrowers’ Aggregation
At the inception of the Tomato Outgrowers Scheme for major tomato paste factories, particularly in northwestern Nigeria, Greenlands Agribusiness Consult Limited was subcontracted to work with 30 cooperatives. We facilitated efficient tomato aggregation and coordinated supply for major brands, strengthening the tomato value chain. This project improved farmer-market linkages and enhanced supply for tomato processing industries.
Rice Milling Projects
In 2022, we supported the expansion of two rice milling companies in the northwestern region. Our scope included preparing concept notes, coordinating outgrower selection, and guiding operational transitions. This strengthened rice production, improved processing capacity, and expanded market reach in northern Nigeria.
Poultry Processing Plant Development
We supported the establishment of a large scale chicken processing facility in Lagos State, with multi-ton daily production capacity, including advisory for expansion into other states. This increased high-quality meat production, improved food security, and strengthened protein supply chains.
Fishery Processing Project
In partnership with a Lagos-based client, we facilitated the setup of a modern fishery processing facility to enhance product quality and meet urban demand. This project improved the efficiency and reliability of fish supply chains, increased processed fish availability, and supported local fisheries growth.
Abattoir Project
This project was built to establish a state-of-the-art beef production and processing facility. It was designed around continuous farming of high-quality cattle in the northwestern region of Nigeria, ensuring a year-round supply. The facility integrates a modern primary processing center responsible for receiving, holding, slaughtering, and inspecting meat animals and products. By linking feed crop production directly to beef processing, the project was structured to optimize efficiency, productivity, and product quality with an annual capacity of 288,000 cattle.
Cotton Wool Processing Facility
This project was developed to establish a fully operational cotton wool production factory in the North-Central region of Nigeria, covering the entire value chain from cotton fiber processing to packaging and distribution. Daily production: 1 ton. ROI: 170.24%. The facility was built to serve the healthcare and cosmetics industries, delivering consistent, high-quality products to domestic and international markets.
Plastic Recycling Initiative
The pilot phase was launched in two major cities in Nigeria to leverage population density, retail infrastructure, and high plastic consumption. Individuals and businesses deposit plastic waste at community hubs, and aggregated plastics are processed into reusable materials in dedicated recycling facilities, with an ROI of about 32.87% annually. The initiative was built to create a circular economy and promote environmental sustainability while generating economic value.
Renewable Energy Integration
The project harnesses abundant solar irradiation (1,900–2,050 kWh/m²) and wind resources to generate clean electricity in Nigeria’s North-Central region. It was designed as an integrated renewable energy solution serving residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural use. The project taps into Nigeria’s 427 GW solar energy potential, serving as a scalable model for sustainable energy development.
Corn Production and Value Addition
This project was created to leverage large-scale corn production across 7,000 hectares for each of over 15 clients, with semi-processing and value addition facilities serving at least four distinct client groups. The project reduces post-harvest losses and ensures a reliable supply for industries such as brewing, food processing, and animal feed, strengthening nationwide market penetration.
Cassava (Garri) Expansion
This project was developed in the South-South region to expand garri production through large-scale cassava cultivation. Daily production: 15 tons; monthly: 360 tons; quarterly: 1,080 tons; annual: 4,320 tons. ROI: 293.09%. The initiative was built to enhance food security and create broader domestic and export opportunities.
Cassava Cultivation Project
This project was developed to establish a sustainable and profitable cassava cultivation venture on 5,000 hectares of arable land in the South-South region of Nigeria. The initiative leverages multiple planting cycles per year to maximize yields, optimize returns on investment, and ensure a consistent supply of high-quality cassava for processing companies and other off-takers.
Cassava-Based Adhesives Processing Plant
This project was developed to establish Africa’s largest cassava-based adhesive processing plant, with a daily production capacity of 25 tonnes in the North-Central region of Nigeria. The facility leverages abundant cassava resources from major cassava-producing states—Nasarawa, Kogi, and Benue—ensuring a steady supply of raw materials. By integrating industrial-scale processing with strategic sourcing, the project was designed to strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global adhesive market while fostering regional economic development.
Milk Production
The project focuses on the warehousing, distribution, and sale of powdered milk in Nigeria, with stock strategically located in two major cities to serve the southern and northern regions. It aims to maximize efficiency, optimize returns, and meet the growing demand for dairy products in West Africa, with an annual distribution of over 90 tons of powdered milk. By targeting both local and regional markets, the initiative seeks to contribute to food security, boost rural development, and create a sustainable and profitable business.
Sugar Production
A large-scale sugarcane plantation and processing facility covering 5,000 hectares in the North-Central region of Nigeria ensures a steady supply of high-quality sugarcane for industrial production. The project aims to produce 20 tonnes of refined granulated sugar daily, supports farmers through input financing, mechanization, and guaranteed off-take, and is expected to generate over 2,000 jobs within the host community and surrounding states. It also incorporates eco-friendly practices, such as water conservation and organic pest management, reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported sugar and boosting local agricultural development.
National Mechanization Initiative
The distribution of handheld tractors to different local government areas in Nigeria aims to enhance access to mechanization for smallholder farmers, who contribute 70–80% of the country’s food production. This initiative improves efficiency and productivity in crop cultivation while providing farmers with training, maintenance services, and guaranteed off-take for their produce, creating opportunities for increased income and local employment. By promoting modern farming techniques, it seeks to boost agricultural output, reduce labor intensity, and strengthen the overall food value chain across the country.
